In the book Alleigent by Veronica Roth the characters all react to the main conflict very differently. The conflict that at hand is adjusting to their lifestyle change, which is a major one if I do say so myself. First of all they find out that the world they did know is accually a city in a state, which is a state in a country, and is a country in a continent which there are seven of. Then they learn about how for their whole lives they have been part of an experiment relating with their genes. This affects the characters in different ways.
For instance they tell Tobias that the divergents are the people with pure undamaged genes. But, when they go to test them he finds out that they are in fact damaged. The doctors try to explain that sometimes this happens. This angers him very much like they are saying there is something wrong with him. He feels like he can't talk to Tris anymore because she can't understand what he's going through because her genes are pure and unharmed. I wonder when he will accept this news and realize that it doesn't change who he is.
Tris finds out that her mother who had dies saving her life was sent into the experiment and once lived out in the real world. She uncovers many secrets about her mothers past and why she was sent in to the experiment. As she does this she goes through many emotions first it's betrayal, she just wonders why her mother wouldn't tell her this. Then it's wonder of many questions that were now unanswered. Did my dad know? What was she sent in to do? She went searching for these answers from anyone who knew her mother. But this just seemed like with every answer she got more and more came up. At this point she is overwhelmed and frankly very confused questioning if she really knew her mother at all.

The Fault in Our Stars
I have just finished that infamous book The Fault In Our Stars by John Green. I have to say it was a real tear jerker. Throughout the whole book I had a roller costar of emotions. For an example when Gus confessed his love for Hazel I did not know how to feel happy or sad. "She is so beautiful. You don't get tired of looking at her. You never worry if she is smarter than you: You know she is. She is funny without ever being mean. I love her. I am so lucky to love her, Van Houten. You don't get to choose if you get hurt in this world, old man, but you do have some say in who hurts you. I like my choices. I hope she likes hers." (Green 313)
I was conflicted how to feel because they are in love and happy with one another. But on the flip side you know that Hazel has terminal cancer and Gus is recovered from his but it could come back. So you know that they are both living like today is their last day. This causes the reader to be conflicted in their emotions throughout the book. This book, The Fault in Our Stars is a must read for everyone! If that didn't make you want to read it watch the trailer from the up incoming movie based of the book The Fault in Our Stars.

Divergent
My favorite book that I read last trimester was Divergent by Veronica Roth. From the start of the book I was hooked. I couldn't but the book down all week. This book was about a girl named Beatrice who lived in Abnegation, which was one of the five fractions in the book. Each fraction had very different lifestyles, as an example Abnegation was the fraction of selflessness. Everything they did was to help and care for other people. But then there was Dauntless, the daring and brave fraction.
Beatrice never felt like she really fit in with the other people in her fraction. She was too selfish. When the people turn sixteen in their society they take a test to see which fraction they best fit in. Her results arrived inconclusive and she was told they call these people divergent. The person who tested her warned her that some of the leaders will kill her if they find out she is a divergent. When it came to the day where Beatrice could either pick a new fraction or stay where she was, she was very conflicted. She ends up choosing the complete opposite lifestyle of Dauntless. The rest of the book is like a roller coaster, full of unexpected twists and turns and takes you for the ride of your life. I would highly recommend this book for anyone looking for an exciting read!
