My favorite book that I read last trimester was Divergent by Veronica Roth. From the start of the book I was hooked. I couldn't but the book down all week. This book was about a girl named Beatrice who lived in Abnegation, which was one of the five fractions in the book. Each fraction had very different lifestyles, as an example Abnegation was the fraction of selflessness. Everything they did was to help and care for other people. But then there was Dauntless, the daring and brave fraction.
Beatrice never felt like she really fit in with the other people in her fraction. She was too selfish. When the people turn sixteen in their society they take a test to see which fraction they best fit in. Her results arrived inconclusive and she was told they call these people divergent. The person who tested her warned her that some of the leaders will kill her if they find out she is a divergent. When it came to the day where Beatrice could either pick a new fraction or stay where she was, she was very conflicted. She ends up choosing the complete opposite lifestyle of Dauntless. The rest of the book is like a roller coaster, full of unexpected twists and turns and takes you for the ride of your life. I would highly recommend this book for anyone looking for an exciting read!
This book sounds great! I liked how you included the trailer so that I could feel the mood of the story.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed how you explained the book in such detail. I also enjoyed how you added a video.
ReplyDeleteI have also read the book Divergent! I can't wait to go and see the movie when it comes out. I also had a hard time putting the book down... it was really a roller coaster of events! I liked your summary. You gave enough details without spoilers.
ReplyDeleteI read this book also and it was definitely a favorite of mine also. I liked how you described the book and the different factions. I also liked how you said "The rest of the book is like a roller coaster, full of unexpected twists and turns and takes you for the ride of your life". This describes the book in a creative way!
